Off Grid Trailers: The Expedition 2.0 Overland Trailer

The Expedition 2.0 is truly an off-roader’s dream. This trailer has been designed for those who desire a true off-road experience, but are unwilling to sacrifice conveniences and comforts. When designing our trailers, we chose material that were strong, durable, and light, and able to withstand the rigors of off-roading even after years of use.

Construction

The Expedition 2.0 features an all-aluminum body mounted on an engineered, powder coated, 4 inch C-channel steel frame. This construction makes for a strong, durable trailer that is not only light but also impervious to rot. With a 50 degree departure angle and 21 inches of ground clearance front to back, this trailer can truly go anywhere. As well, the additions of the award winning Timbren 3500 axle-less suspension system, dual length max coupler articulating hitch, and all terrain tires further work to give this trailer exceptional off-roading capabilities.

Though not large in appearance, the Expedition 2.0 contains ample storage for the transport of all your camping needs. The numerous storage compartments are powder coated with lockable compression latches that protect your contents from theft, dirt, and dust. An additional storage bin is located at the top of the unit to accommodate the larger, more cumbersome items such as lawn chairs or firewood.

The custom roof rack that comes standard with the Expedition 2.0 is an invaluable feature of this trailer which allows you to transport a canoe, kayaks, or bikes. It also allows for the placement of optional features such as a 23Zero roof top tent, 23Zero awnings, and/or the 23Zero Shower Enclosure – all of which work to maximize the trailer’s footprint and sleeping capability. Additionally, walk on fenders and steps designed to handle up to 400 pounds of weight have been thoughtfully placed to allow for ease of access to the unit’s roof top and rack.

The well-designed side galley kitchen that comes with this model features a drop down sink with hot and cold running water and a Dometic 2 burner stove. We opted for the drop-down configuration on this unit to allow for maximum pantry storage capabilities located at the trailer’s rear. The fully customizable pantry storage shelves allow for the accommodation of all of your storage needs, and illustrates the attention to detail that OGT does so well. Further, a conveniently located Dometic 55 L fridge/freezer on a pullout lockable slide provides ample room for perishable items and comes standard with this unit. The well thought out configuration of this kitchen makes meal prep an easy and enjoyable experience. Everything you need is within reach. Additionally, to further enhance your dining and after-hours experience, an optional Bluetooth stereo and speaker system can be mounted to the trailer’s stove/sink unit.

Truly unsurpassed in its market, the Expedition 2.0 has it all. It’s strong, durable design with exacting attention to detail leaves nothing lacking or wanting in this trailer. It delivers on every level and as such gives the owner confidence and peace of mind that this trailer will handle any obstacle with ease and comfort.
